Speaking of strategic incompetence...

I remember when my partner told me that he didn't know how to use a dishwasher. That was the first thing to change when we moved into a place with one. The incompetence doesn't fall down gendered lines, either. I also taught him how to use our electric screwdriver.

The beauty is, geniuses can be taught. The hard part is that they might make more difficult pupils than some.

And whatever happened to that post about the imposter syndrome?! (Uhm, not to confound things too much...)

Regarding teaching your spouse something, I've found that close family members don't make the best student/teacher relationship and are sometimes best avoided. That said, you definitely do NOT want to be stuck doing the dishes from here to eternity so I guess some difficult times just have to be endured.
